A young carer is someone under 18 who helps look after somebody who cannot manage otherwise because of age, illness, or disability.

 This may mean doing more housework, shopping, or jobs than other people the same age.

This may mean lifting, washing, or watching out for someone in the family.

A Young Carer may be the main carer, someone who helps care, or someone otherwise affected by the care needs of a family member.

Here you can choose from one of four sites for information. The first gives information to children of Junior School age, the second is for Senior School age, the third site is for General information about Young Carers and is designed for anyone to use whilst the forth gives information designed for professionals and those who work with children.
