Swim, Gym, or Golf. How would you like to try any of these? From 2nd January 2008, If you are a Young Carer under 16 years of age and help provide care for someone in your immediate family who needs help because of an illness, disability, or their age ……. then you can now get a FREE Walsall Leisure Card. To get this FREE card, you just need to call into one of our centres with evidence that a brother or sister, or a parent or guardian, receives the benefit called Disability Living Allowance. If you care for someone else, then if you are a member of the Young Carers Project at Walsall Carers Centre, they can give you a letter to get your free card – you can find out about the project by calling them on 01922 636663 or at: http://www.walsallcarers.org/html/young_carers.html If you are 16 or over, find out about the Carers Leisure Centre Scheme – where adult carers can get 20 free sessions … ask at the nearest leisure centre, call Walsall Carers on 01922 636663, or visit http://www.walsall.gov.uk/clcs_flyer2.doc. Get fit and have fun with Sport & Leisure Services in 2008!
